Forza Motorsport 7 Development Ends with the August Content Update!

Published July 5th, 2019:

Turn 10 Studios have announced that their development support for Forza Motorsport 7 will end with the upcoming August content update.

The final update for Forza Motorsport 7 will be released next month. This news was announced on the most recent Forza Monthly livestream by Brian Ekberg, who confirmed that official support for the game is ending soon so that Turn 10 can focus on future projects. You can read his full statement below:

“Finally, a word about the future for Forza Motorsport 7. Development on Forza 7, including further Forza Race Regulations features, will culminate with next month’s August 2019 update. Of note, the August update will feature race disqualifications based on accumulated penalty times. Look for more detail on how this will work next month.”

It's been two years since Forza Motorsport 7 released on Xbox One and PC. Since then, the game has received regular updates that have added content to the game and improved the overall user experience. These updates will be coming to an end this August though, as the August update will be the final one for the game. It's more than likely that the final update for the game will focus on implementing the remaining functionality of the Forza Race Regulations feature, leaving the addition of more content as an unlikely possibility.

With the August update, Turn 10 will put an end to the longest cycle of post-release content in franchise history. With the team moving on to their next game, hopefully they can apply the lessons they learned with Forza Motorsport 7 to that title.
