Volkswagen ID. R Challenge Introduced to RaceRoom

A new competition inside RaceRoom Racing Experience has just been announced, and it focuses on one of the fastest electric vehicles in the world.
Volkswagen have announced a new partnership with RaceRoom, allowing players to take on the Nordschleife in the famed electric supercar, the Volkswagen ID. R. The time attack car ranks among the fastest in the world, notable for its record breaking run at Pikes Peak in 2016, during which the car became the first to complete the hill climb in under eight minutes. Now, players can take the car out onto the Nürburgring and drive a virtual version of the vehicle themselves. This is thanks to a new official in-game competition seeking to find the best drivers of the virtual machine, with "awesome prizes" at stake for the winners. Specifically, the prize for setting the top time on the track is a Volkswagen Ice Adventure which is set to take place next year. The runner up will receive personal driving training through the Volkswagen Driving experience, with a VIP package including a "special surprise" for the third step on the podium.
As for specifics regarding the nature of the competition, the official RaceRoom website gives the following statement. "The Volkswagen ID. R Challenge is an international competition, staged by Volkswagen Motorsport and taking place on the Steam-based “RaceRoom Racing Experience” racing simulation. It consists of a leaderboard competition (time attack mode) held online, which starts on the 24th of April 2019 and ends on the 24th of October 2019, and an online final, held after the conclusion of the leaderboard competition. The most successful players will be given the chance to race for an Volkswagen Ice Adventure Sweden organized by the Volkswagen Driving Experience. The exact details on the final, and the amount of players qualifying for it, will be communicated at a later stage."
You can currently participate in the challenge by accessing it through the "Time Attack" mode in the game, so long as you are at least 18 years old and have obtained a B Class license in RaceRoom.
